Hawthorn University offers online holistic health education and nutrition programs. We promote a respectful dialogue with health providers and present a broad discourse in the current scientific and alternative approaches to nutrition.

The Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition (MSHN) and the Nutrition Consultant (NC) certificate are clinical programs designed for students who want to work as consultants or design and tailor nutrition plans for individuals or groups. Students work with practice clients and their instructors as they proceed through these programs.


The Doctor of Science in Holistic Nutrition (DHNE) and the Master of Science in Health and Nutrition Education (MHNE) are non-clinical, independent study programs designed for individuals who have a specific interest in nutrition education or want dedicated training in a condensed time frame. These programs are ideal for motivated, disciplined, and mature individuals who desire a focused and flexible program that fits into the busy adult life with family and career obligations. Student work in these programs is also supervised by an instructor.
