He earned a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, and his Master of Science in Oriental Medicine at Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, a premiere school in his discipline. A licensed Acupuncture Physician in the state of Florida, he is certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
